Stargazing Tours

Dark Sky Project is pleased to offer The Crater Experience at the Cowan's Private Observatory from Friday 3 July 2020. Tours will operate Thursday - Mondays. Bookings can be made online or phone +64 3 680 6960.

Access to University of Canterbury Mount John Observatory

The Mount John Observatory vehicle access road will be open 10.30am - 2.30pm Thursday to Monday. Please note an $8 user fee applies per vehicle.

The Astro Cafe located at Mt John summit remains closed; please note there are no toilet facilities available.
